這是一個史料閱讀與討論課程，希望利用Eighteenth Century Collections Online資料庫的豐富史料，引導學生認識英國近代史的重要研究課題，並訓練學生的英國史料閱讀與研究報告寫作能力。本課程規劃四大主題：「光榮革命」、「the Robincracy」、「國會改革」、「法國大革命論戰」，每個主題導讀三篇政論小冊，並由學生選擇其中一個主題，撰寫研究報告習作。
